Food trends: what are the “big” foods as of now?
We all know that gluten free, quinoa, kale, and juicing have been recent fads, but according to Food Navigator there are a few new food trends on the horizon for 2015.
- Convenience has become extremely relevant for busy families and singles all around.
- Pre-packaged home delivery, everything snack sized, and readymade meals are popular choices to shorten prep time (but most likely break your budget as well).
- Along with that is “snackification” – making everything snack size. Breakfast biscuits, pouches, and snacks – it seems that everything is for the consumer on-the-go.
- Frozen food will also be in the spotlight due to its convenience. Many consumers are unaware that frozen veggies are just as nutrient rich as fresh, but last longer and are cheaper alternatives.
Companies know that many people are becoming more health conscious, so look out for some healthier snack and convenience foods on the shelves in 2015.
